What’s your role and what does a typical day for you entail?
I’ve been fortunate enough to have moved through a variety of different positions here at IDR and am now in the Client Success Team. I am responsible for overseeing our client relationships, championing any client concerns and managing feedback. I work closely with our operational team to ensure timely responses to queries and continuously elevate service levels to ensure that our customers receive a great experience.
What’s it like working at IDR?
I have been with IDR for a little over 2 years and it’s unlike anywhere I have worked before – they not only care about their clients, but their people too. In particular, IDR invests in their people and go out of their way to ensure that everyone feels valued and is happy. Management has carefully selected an amazing group of people to work together to bring IDR to life. The passion, dedication and drive to challenge, change, connect and commit is the reason I enjoy being part of the IDRTeam!
What’s your background and how has your career evolved?
My background is diverse, starting out in law and moving to marketing and recruitment. That said, all aspects of my work have been very Client/Customer centric and as a result I find that I have a unique understanding and approach to engaging with people and building relationships. Here at IDR, I am able to bring my varied experiences and learnings into a new field to the benefit of our fund manager clients and their investors.
What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
“No” is not the end of a negotiation, but the beginning of one.
What’s a moment or experience that’s had a big impact on who you are today?
Packing up and leaving South Africa to start a new adventure in Croatia, far from all that I know and love. Everyday has brought its challenges, but the learnings have been invaluable.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy hiking, swimming and reading. Spending time with family and friends is always my favourite.
