What’s your role and what does a typical day for you entail?
One of the most remarkable aspects of my role as Internal Audit and Controls Manager is its ability to nurture individuals with a diverse set of skills. It’s a realm where versatility thrives, and every day brings forth new challenges and opportunities for growth. Every interaction, whether it’s with colleagues, clients, or industry experts, enriches me. The diverse perspectives and insights shared during these interactions foster a fulfilling sense of connection and collaboration.
Amidst the ever-changing landscape of the private markets, there are two constants: learning and people. Regardless of the tasks at hand, whether it’s deciphering intricate regulations, brainstorming innovative audit methodologies, or preparing for SOC II audits, continual learning permeates through it all.
What’s it like working at IDR?
Working at IDR is an experience unlike any other. It’s the embodiment of our core values – Challenge, Change, Connect, and Commit – that truly sets it apart. These values are not just words on paper; they’re ingrained in the very fabric of our culture.

In a personal capacity, what’s a moment or experience that’s had a big impact on who you are today?
To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, “All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my parents.” I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have been blessed with amazing parents who believe in, encourage and love me unconditionally. Their guidance and nurturing presence throughout my life have been the bedrock upon which I’ve built my character and pursued my aspirations.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Much like the beauty of a diverse landscape in nature, I cherish the opportunity to explore the richness of life’s offerings. I enjoy spending quality time with loved ones, exploring new cultures through travel, and mentoring young people. Nature is my sanctuary, and I find solace in outdoor activities. Attending church provides me with grounding and spiritual nourishment.
What is a fun fact about you that not everyone knows?
I had the incredible opportunity to represent South Africa on the international hip-hop stage.
