1. What does a typical day (or night!) at IDR for you entail?
Our nights kick off with a lively greeting from the late shift team, who we take over from. After catching up with them, we’re treated to a delicious meal (a perk of the nightshift!). Once settled and our taste buds satisfied, it’s time to dive into work, often starting with client and investor calls. The rest of the shift involves teaming up with our clients and investors, collaborating towards achieving their goals and deadlines. Work hard, feast well – that’s our nightly routine!
2. What’s it like working at IDR?
Every day presents different challenges and opportunities, but the real magic is in our team – we’re all in sync, working toward the same goals. We have an exceptional team of diverse professionals. Everyone brings unique ideas and cultural perspectives, which is fascinating and enables us to learn a lot from each other. Our values (Change, Challenge, Commit, and Connect) are like our team anthem! We’re not just a team; we’re One Global Team, and that’s what makes it so exciting to work at IDR.
3. Tell us a bit about your background?
I began my career in the BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) industry, working with diverse teams and clients across the globe. Known for my goal-driven approach, I’ve consistently and successfully managed to build high performing teams delivering a white glove service to clients. My educational background includes Project Management and Business and Management Development. My ongoing mission has always been to uphold a commitment to excellence.
4. What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
“Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people.” – Steve Jobs.
“People first” It’s a reminder that the true backbone of success lies in the team you build. Processes and technology are undeniably crucial, but without the right people in the mix, they’re just tools waiting for purpose.
5. What’s on your bucket list?
Securing a season ticket for me and my family to catch every heart-pounding Arsenal match in England!
6. When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
Knee-deep in glue guns and glitter! Crafting and building have become an unexpected passion for me over the years. You’ll also spot me on family escapades, tackling hikes and uncovering hidden gems in Cape Town. This city is like a treasure chest that never runs out of surprises. There are so many hidden gems that I haven’t laid eyes on yet – the adventure never ends!
