IDR boosts US presence and momentum with key commercial hires

Private markets onboarding hub IDR continues to build its US presence and momentum with key hires, extending its commercial footprint from the East Coast to the West Coast.  

New York based Brian Hwang  joins IDR as Commercial Development Director with a focus on spearheading commercial growth via net new expansion and strategic partnerships. Brian brings over 20 years of experience in commercially focused roles in the financial solutions space.   He comes to IDR from Visible Alpha, where he was Global Head of Partnerships, prior to which he spent a decade at SS&C Intralinks.  

Brian says “This opportunity with IDR captured my attention because it’s the only solution in the market addressing the full scope of investor onboarding pain points. With over 40,000 investors across hundreds of fund managers on its platform and a team of experts providing 24/7 support, it is uniquely positioned to network investors and GPs and accelerate fund closings.” 

Providing coverage on the West Coast, Simona Shao joined IDR in March as Commercial Development Manager. A graduate of Wharton Business School, Simona cut her teeth in the private markets industry as part of the financial sponsors vertical at JP Morgan Private Bank working with of the largest private equity and hedge fund managers in Southern California. 

Simona says “Something that stood out to me in my previous role was the inefficiency of private markets onboarding systems, so it was immediately clear that IDR’s investor passport solution made a lot of sense. Since joining the firm, I’ve been inspired by seeing the solution in action and the team’s energy and vision in making a difference to our industry.” 

Rory Blazeby, Head of CRM will also be spending the remainder of the year in the US. His focus is on extending the breadth and depth of relationships with clients and strategic partners as well as supporting our Commercial team as it continues to grow.
